Calling all die hard Triathlon fans out there!! This year’s ‘Worlds End Triathlon’ on the 25th Aug is not to be missed. The event begins with a 750metre sprint or 175metre (Try a Tri) swim in the river Shannon, followed by a 20k cycle on the Old Dublin Road, which has been made a much safer place to ride now due to the main motorway being opened in 2010. The triathlon conclude with a 5k run around the outskirts of Castleconnell village. This is a great competition that will take the competitor through the counties of Limerick, Clare and Tipperary and will be a real triumph when completed. Three counties for the price of one there so it would be a real shame to miss it! Check out the route here!
Castleconnell is a beautiful village situated about 7 miles outside of Limerick and encapsulates both the rural Irish feel with a very cosmopolitan touch.
